ST Mock Lecture: Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems

The lecture explores global community roles in sustainable food production and highlights traditional agriculture's significance as human heritage.

Focusing on Oita Prefecture, Japan, where Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University is located, Professor Kazem will explain historic landscapes shaped by harmonious human-nature interactions and promote rural tourism for cultural and environmental learning.

Professor Kazem M. Vafadari
Kazem M. Vafadari explores landscape science, environmental agriculture, cultural anthropology and folklore, and human geography. His recent focus has been on the revitalization and development of agriculture heritage landscapes through tourism. As a member of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UNFAO), he has contributed to introducing the World Agricultural Heritage sites in Japan.
 

This session is for international undergraduate applicants.
Although it will be held in English, both English-basis and Japanese-basis applicants are welcome to attend!
