Applicants with Japanese citizenship, including multiple citizenship, or permanent residency in Japan are not eligible to apply as an international student, regardless of their country of residency. If you have Japanese citizenship or permanent residency, you must submit your application through Domestic Admissions or renounce your citizenship/change your residency status at the time of application as an international student. If one or both of your parents have Japanese citizenship but you are unsure if you yourself have Japanese citizenship, please check with your local Japanese embassy for confirmation.

Do not submit this form if you have Japanese citizenship or permanent residency status that you do not wish to change. If you have any questions about domestic admissions, please contact the Office of Domestic Admissions.
